Don Chan Orphanage's background

It' was 9 years ago that Peppe first visited Don Chan temple, that time she moved to live in Chiang Mai, and went to help several less fortunate centres including Chiang Mai Blind School, Chiang Mai Elderly Home, Vieng Ping Orphanage home, and Ging Keaw Orphanage home.

Pu, a next-door friend, suggested her to visit Don Chan temple, where Pra Kru Anan, the abbot, looked after 96 children. Today 650!

Since that time Peppe always help whenever she can.
About once a month, Peppe call the temple to arrange with Auntie Lek, the chef, to ask children what they would like for their special dinner. Their favourite dishes are Tom Yum seafood, Tom Yum chicken, spicy pork salad (northern Thai style) etc., and ice-cream!! They very much love their special treat because their usual dinner would be boiled mixed noodle with rice, vegetable, egg and canned fish.

Peppe usually go there with friends or family to help serving dinner to children which make them very happy, not only for the special dinner, but also for very kind and special services!!

Peppe also help the temple with some daily used products such as rice, cooking oil, noodle, canned fish, fish sauce, etc. She will check with the temple about once a month, and write down what they need, then telephone Makro sale manager, and ask him to arrange everything, so when she arrive there, just pay and load everything to her car and a truck.

More over, with great helps from our friend, Keith Braint, who kindly dedicated his home and invited guests to join Garden Party and raised funds to help Don Chan orphanage. Peppe went to England 3 times to cook Thai food at Garden Party. This project gave very, very good results.
Keith decided to move to stay with us at Golden Cupids hotel September last year, so England Garden Party project will be on hold for a while until the next plan designed.

At present, the temple provides school for the children from Prathom 1 (Primary 1) to High Vocational Certificate levels. Volunteer teachers mainly encourage children on computer, business management, and English.

With kind supports from our guests and friends, Peppe opened an account for Don Chan Orphanage, which you can help by sending money to PayPal to contact@goldencupids.com , this money will then transferred to Orphanage Account and pay for :-
